Supermarine Spitfire Mk XIX (PS915)
The Supermarine Spitfire is the most famous British W.W.II fighter of
the Battle of Britain although it was not produced in as many numbers
as the Hawker Hurricane.
Spitfire PS915 featured here is a Mk XIX and is one of the
Spitfires preserved as part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
The following photographs of Spitfire PS915 were taken on 18 July 1999
during the Festival of Flight 1999 held at
the National Museums of Scotland, Museum of Flight, East Fortune Airfield,
East Lothian, Scotland over the weekend of 17 and 18 July 1999.
