A collection of photographs of the de Havilland DH.84 Dragon.
The DH.84 Dragon was a successful small commercial aircraft designed and built by the de Havilland company.
It proved to be an attractive short-haul low capacity airliner and was soon in service worldwide.
It was a simple, light design with a plywood box fuselage and incorporating components from the earlier single engined Fox Moth, e.g. engine.

de Havilland DH.84 Dragon 'Iolar' EI-ABI
The inaugural service of the Irish Airline Aer Lingus was operated by the Dragon EI-ABI 'Iolar' which translates as 'Eagle' from the Irish language.
In 1986 for the 50th anniversary of Aer Lingus a replica Dragon was acquired and restored as the 'Iolar'.
This series of photographs of the flying display of the anniversary replica Dragon 'Iolar' EI-ABI were taken during the Festival of Flight 2001 held at East Fortune Airfield.
