Mijas Pueblo

Situated on the mountainside some 428m above sea level in the province of Málaga, Spain, the picturesque village of Mijas Pueblo commands views overlooking Fuengirola and the Costa del Sol.

The village is extremely popular with tourists and despite this, it has managed to retain its character of a traditional Andalucian white village with narrow streets. Donkeys are still used to operate the village's taxi service ("Burro Taxi"). Take a gentle stroll around the village and you will come across many gift and souvenir shops, restaurants, bars, churches, the bullring amongst the many local attractions. Walk around the gardens and you will be rewarded with magnificent views out over the Mediterranean (on a clear day you can see Africa) and inland to the mountains.

I visit and stay in Mijas Pueblo regularly and here are some of my photographs taken over a period of many years.
